(re)life Mission

relife mission

To fulfill (re)life’s vision statement of “Know Truth, Live Different, Love Fiercely, this student ministry is made up of 3 key components that when put together, make up the very essence of (re)life.

The first component of (re)life is (re)think. (re)think is our Sunday morning E 4:12 hour. It is during this E4:12 class that students will learn the truth that will eventually lead to knowing the truth. We have two teachers that teach classes on everything from theology to apologetics. I want students to really learn about their faith and be able to defend it and understand what Christianity is made up of from an intellectual point of view; to be able to answer when asked “Why DO you believe what you believe?” They won’t always be here at (re)life, and I want them to feel equipped to face the world, not just spiritually, but intellectually.

The second component is (re)vive service. These is our Wednesday night service. We meet with junior high and high school combined at 7pm in the student center. The goal every week is not just to go to service and leave having played a cool game or heard an interesting message, but also to encounter the living God.  From the worship to the message, the presence of God is placed at the highest importance. I want students to leave feeling revived in their spirit and soul and to experience an authentic touch from the Lord. If you experience God in a life changing way, you will live different.

The third component of (re)life is (re)groups. These are our Small Groups. It is in Groups that we make community priority. A place where a student can come and feel accepted and loved... one might even say we would want students to learn to love fiercely in this community environment. It is so essential to the Christian walk to have a community of believers that will walk with you and pray with you. That is what Groups are for.

If a student can get plugged into all 3 areas of (re)life, they will be an effective disciple of Jesus Christ and live a thriving Christian life.

(re)life Vision

relife vision

The vision statement here at (re)Life Student Ministries is “Know Truth, Be Different, Love Fiercely.” My passion is to raise up and equip a generation of Gospel disciples who will not just say they are Christians with their mouths, but live as Christ Followers. I believe that starts with KNOWING TRUTH. Not just any truth, but THE truth. Jesus says, “You shall know the TRUTH, and the truth will set you free.” I want our student to search after truth in God’s Word, in theology, and through apologetics. This means not living a blind faith but rather an informed faith that can stand up to this world. If you can grasp truth and it gets into your heart, this causes you to BE DIFFERENT. Now, more than ever, we need a generation that will live counter culturally. My heart is to see students that will walk out their Christianity doing what Jesus did, which was to live in the world, but not be of this world. I am praying that students would live a life that is marked and set apart as one of Jesus’ disciples. As one of His disciples, this means we must LOVE the world FIERCELY. This more than anything sets you apart as a follower of Christ. Unfortunately, these days, when the world hears the word “Christian,” they have an extremely bad taste in their mouth. This word has come to mean for some, a people group who are gay hating, intolerant, and prideful. Jesus loved fiercely when He walked on the earth. Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors, and let a prostitute anoint Him with oil. We want to love the world in such a way, that the very heart of Jesus is communicated to them.

Luke 10:30 “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, love your neighbor as yourself.” We will love the Lord with all our mind (Know Truth), our hearts, soul, and strength (Be Different). And we will love our neighbor as ourselves (Love Fiercely). I believe our vision statement will challenge students to live out the first and second greatest commandment and live a gospel centered life.
